But I *am* smiling
Fun week. Had some assignments due, didn't start or finish one of them. I figured it just wasn't worth the four hours of frustrations that I would have had to put into the assignment to get noe measly percent. So long as I spend some time trying to understand the solutions when they are posted, I don't think it will affect me too much for the final exam.
Last night I went out for dinner at a fancy steakhouse with John and his parents and Julie's family. I suppose I was a bit out of place, but I can consider myself an honourary Stilla when need be. After that we went to Julie's house. I spent more time of my evening than I was planning to; I was with them from 6 til past midnight.
I've had this weird fascination with Euchre lately. I think I played so much this week that I got it all out of my system. All I know is that I'm paying a lot more aggressively. I'm willing to call trump on much weaker hands, and I realize that most of the time I'm able to win on the weaker hands.
I think I'm giving up on my board games club idea. I'm afraid it'll turn out like my school newspaper: better in my head than in reality. What I do plan on doing, however, is taking one of the more prestigious executive positions in the euchre club. They're all going to be up for grabs, for the most part. I think I'd like either president or VP Communications (which should hopefully be taking over the website which is currently a work in progress).
Only ~two weeks of class left, but they're going to be hectic ones. The assignments are coming in very steadily now, and I have a midterm on Friday, not to mention a 15% assignment to start. I don't suppose I'm nearly as worried as I should be, but I consider that a good thing.
Disgaea is a very addicting game. It prides itself in its ability to let gamers spend countless time leveling up characters and items. I've been spending plenty of time doing both, but I'm still nowhere near the extremes that other people have made it.
Well, I've got to make pancakes to bring to a brunch next door, and then I'm going to the mall.

Link of the moment... Not very funny. It has it's moments, but it's not racy enough.

Ya know, I tried to write a computer program to figure out all the stats and best plays of euchre but I don't know how to code. I wrote a decent simulator using some programming language on a Psion 5mx but it might work better on a "real" computer written in something like C++. Since you are a computer science guy, you must know some programming. Did you ever think of writing a good euchre playing program?

To be fair, I'm in math. I am taking a computer science minor, and I do have a fair amount of Java experience since I actually started off in Computer Science.
I'm going to have to say that the thought of writing a Euchre program had not crossed my mind. I suppose in theory I could do it, but at the moment I'm busy with class, and I would never get around to doing it.
Maybe I'll keep it at the back of my mind, just to keep my coding skills sharp...
